Getting started
What is Solution Provider Portal?
Solution Provider Portal is a single portal for all third parties who offer solutions to help Solution Provider Customers manage their business. Solution Provider Portal provides tools that third parties can use to accelerate the growth of their business and partners, including managing data access, listing solutions, receiving seller authorizations, and growing your business.
Who does Solution Provider Portal support?
Solution Provider Portal supports the following:
- All developers that integrate with Selling Partner API. For definitions, refer to SP-API Terminology.
- Service providers that offer third-party solutions to help sellers manage their business on Amazon. For definition, refer to Service Providers Terminology.
What features does Solution Provider Portal offer?
Solution Provider Portal offers the following features:
- Account unification capabilities for streamlined business management
- An independent environment for managing solution provider businesses
- API usage dashboard for improved integration efficiency
- User permissions for solution provider organizational-level account access management
- Notification preferences for flexible communication methods
How do I get started with Solution Provider Portal?
If you are a new registration, go to Solution Provider Portal and choose Solution Provider Portal. For service providers, follow the steps to Register as a Service Provider. For developers, follow the steps to Register as a Developer. If you have an existing Seller Central or Developer Central account, you will receive a communication from Amazon to start the migration process.
What account should I choose when I onboard to Solution Provider Portal?
We recommend using an existing account. However, if you want to decouple from your current account for any business reason, you can create a new account on Solution Provider Portal.
What is account authorization in Solution Provider Portal?
Authorization through Solution Provider Portal is the secure method through which sellers grant service providers access to their Seller Central account. Unlike previous access methods where service providers could operate with the same permissions as a seller's employee, the new authorization ensures that:
- Sellers explicitly choose which service Provider has access to their account.
- Access is scoped to only the Seller Central roles for which your service has been approved through your Solution Provider Portal account.
- Authorizations are time-bound (valid for 365 days) and renewable.
- Sellers can revoke access at any time from their Manage Services page.
This model gives both you and your sellers greater transparency and control over account access.
Does my Solution Provider Portal account cover all regions?
Yes. Solution Provider Portal is a global site and will help consolidate developer profiles across regions. Can I create multiple Solution Provider Portal accounts?
We recommend that you use a single account on Solution Provider Portal to manage all your business needs. However, you can maintain multiple Solution Provider Portal accounts, if needed.
What does account unification mean?
Account unification involves the consolidation of multiple accounts into a single profile on Solution Provider Portal. All active developer profiles, applications, roles, authorizations, and listings are merged. This process simplifies the management of your API integration at the organizational level, but it doesn't affect how your applications function or how you receive seller authorizations.
After account unification, can I choose to separate my accounts in the future?
No. Account migration and consolidation cannot be undone. If you need assistance, contact Developer Support. In Solution Provider Portal, I originally chose only Build applications that use SP APIs or only Offer services. Can I add the other option later?
Yes. If you're a developer or service provider, you can update your account to offer both solutions. To update your account in Solution Provider Portal, choose Settings (the gear icon), and then choose Solution Type Setup.
How does Amazon store registration work in Solution Provider Portal?
Solution Provider Portal accounts are global, not specific to an Amazon store. Keep in mind the following points:
- With a single Solution Provider Portal account, you can operate as a service provider or a developer across all Amazon stores.
- You can register for a Solution Provider Portal account from any country, but the Solution Provider Portal interface always displays the account as being in the United States.
What does my API usage summary in Solution Provider Portal represent?
After you register your payment method in Solution Provider Portal, the Solution Provider Portal homepage displays your API usage summary. These statistics provide a summary of your account’s GET calls for the current month, as well as historical usage.
Registration and role approval
What does "role approval" mean and why does it matter?
When you register on Solution Provider Portal, Amazon reviews the services that you offer and approves the specific Seller Central roles that align with your business. This process ensures that you only have access to the account features that are relevant to your services.
Role approval matters for authorization because:
- Sellers can only grant you roles for which you are approved.
- If you haven't completed this step, sellers will see greyed-out permissions and won't be able to authorize you.
- Roles not included in your approval won't be available, even if you previously had access to them.
How do I check my approved roles?
Log in to your Solution Provider Portal account and locate your qualified services on the homepage. Then, under the Action column, choose View to see which roles are included.
How do I request approval for additional roles?
Log in to your Solution Provider Portal account and locate your qualified services on the homepage. For the relevant service name, select Edit Service, and then submit your request. Requests are reviewed by Amazon and you'll be notified of the outcome.
I'm a service provider employee, not the administrator. What do I need to do?
Your organization's administrator must complete Solution Provider Portal registration first. After the administrator completes Solution Provider Portal registration, the following steps must occur:
- Your administrator adds you to the organization's Solution Provider Portal account.
- You complete your own identity verification. Each individual who accesses seller accounts must be verified.
Your access is scoped to the roles for which your organization has been approved.
If you don't know who your administrator is, check with your manager or business owner. The administrator is typically the person who originally set up your organization's relationship with Amazon or who manages your company's Seller Central integrations.
If your organization hasn't started registration, encourage your administrator to begin registration at Solution Provider Portal. Until your administrator completes registration, your team's access might be impacted by upcoming changes.
Authorization and seller actions
What does my seller need to do?
Your sellers will receive a communication from Amazon asking them to reauthorize your access through the new authorization flow. Here's what your sellers need to know:
- Where: In Seller Central, sellers go to User Permissions > Manage Services.
- How long it takes: The authorization flow takes less than a minute per service provider.
- What they're approving: Only the Seller Central roles for which you've been approved will appear for the seller to grant.
- When: The seller's notification will include a deadline.
If your seller hasn't received a notification yet, no action is needed. Amazon is communicating with sellers on a rolling basis.
Tip
To speed up the reauthorization process, consider proactively reaching out to your sellers to let them know about the upcoming authorization change.
What happens when my seller reauthorizes?
When the new authorization takes effect, it will replaces all previous access to that seller's account. Only roles that you've been approved for will be available for the seller to grant. Any previously held roles that aren't included, either because you haven't been approved or because they aren't available to service providers, will no longer be active after the seller completes reauthorization.
What happens if my seller doesn't reauthorize by the deadline?
You'll lose access to their Seller Central account until they wish to initiate a new account authorization. You won't be able to access the seller's account to provide your services, and the seller won't be able to receive your services until the seller takes action. Sellers can initiate a new authorization at any time.
How do I view the Seller Central roles I've been approved for on Solution Provider Portal?
You can view your current role approvals in your Solution Provider Portal account by navigating to the Solution Provider Portal homepage. Locate the Services you've qualified for and under the Action column, choose View.
Can I see which sellers have or haven't reauthorized?
You can view your active authorizations in your Solution Provider Portal account under User Permissions > Clients.
What happens to roles I haven't been approved for?
Roles that you haven't been approved for won't be included in the new authorization. When a seller reauthorizes your access, any roles that aren't included will expire. Roles do not persist until the expiration date. To avoid losing access to roles that you need, log in to your Solution Provider Portal account and request approval before your sellers are contacted.
What if a role I use isn't available for me to request approval for?
Some Seller Central roles can only be granted to employees within a seller's organization and aren't available to service providers. If a role that you rely on is not available for request, review the available roles in your Solution Provider Portal account to identify whether an alternative role covers the access that you need. If you're unsure, contact Solution Provider Portal Support for guidance on which approved roles align with your services. For additional details, refer to Eligible Seller Central Roles for Service Providers.
Will I need to go through this process again?
After a seller reauthorizes your access, the new authorization is valid for 365 days. You and your seller will be notified before your authorization expires so that the seller can reauthorize again. You don't need to take any action until you or your seller receives a renewal notification.
Migration
What actions do I need to take to migrate to Solution Provider Portal?
Actions for Selling Partner API developers:
If you're an existing Selling Partner API developer, you'll see a guided workflow to migrate the next time you log into Seller Central and choose Develop Apps. During this process, you can consolidate multiple Selling Partner API profiles under one account to simplify your integration and API operations. You can also choose to keep more than one profile for your needs.
New Selling Partner API developers will register directly on Solution Provider Portal to manage their integrations, access the sandbox, create and list applications, and review usage metrics.
Actions for service providers:
Existing service providers currently accessing Seller Central through secondary user permissions or registered with Service Provider Central will receive communications from Amazon to start the migration to Solution Provider Portal, and in the meantime, there is no immediate impact on your accounts or service listings.
For new service providers, you can register and onboard directly in Solution Provider Portal.
What is the timeline to migrate to Solution Provider Portal?
Developer migration is complete. If you are a developer who has not yet migrated, contact developer support immediately to begin the process.
What steps should I take if I am already registered as a service provider on Service Provider Network?
If you have an existing Service Provider Network account, you do not need to do anything until we contact you. Your service and/or listing in Service Provider Network will not be impacted.
As a service provider, what action should I take after being contacted by Amazon?
- If you are the administrator of a service provider, please complete registration for your business on Solution Provider Portal before the deadline communicated by Amazon via email notification. Registration includes three steps: 1) administrator identity verification, 2) business and contact information, and 3) data access qualification (role approval). You can start data access assessment by clicking Add a service on Solution Provider Portal's homepage. After receiving approval from Amazon on your data access, you can list your service on the Service Provider Network and start getting seller authorizations. If you are accessing seller accounts today as a secondary user, sellers initiate reauthorization. That is, you complete registration and role approval, and then sellers then authorize you through the flow described in Learn How Sellers Authorize Service Providers.
- If you are an employee of a service provider, please identify the administrator of your service business, and have that individual complete registration on Solution Provider Portal by the deadline communicated from Amazon. Upon completion, your administrator can add you to their service provider account on Solution Provider Portal.
As a developer, will migration impact my listing application on the Selling Partner Appstore?
No. Your application will continue to display and operate on the Selling Partner Appstore.
Who can initiate migration?
Primary users (business administrators) can initiate migration. Primary users are the owners of the login credentials that are used to login to a company's account. You will be required to designate an individual as a business administrator for your account.
What if I want to migrate to Solution Provider Portal, but have issues with my current Seller Central account and can't log in using the associated credential?
If you want to use the same credentials that you used for logging into Seller Central and you have issues, contact Seller Support for assistance.
Will I encounter an outage while migrating?
We don't anticipate outages during the migration, as your existing Selling Partner API integrations will continue to work. If there are any issues during the merge, you will receive a message on the user interface, and you will receive an update when the migration resumes. Even in this scenario, your applications and authorizations shouldn't be affected and will continue to work as normal.
As a developer, will my application client credentials or tokens change after migration?
No. There should be no changes in terms of applications credentials. You can update your credentials at any time by rotating the LWA client secret.
As a developer, can I still use Seller Central or Vendor Central after migration?
Your original Seller Central or Vendor Central account will continue to exist after Solution Provider Portal migration. However, when you access any developer features on Seller Central or Vendor Central, you are redirected to Solution Provider Portal.
As a developer, can I view all of my existing and archival support cases after I migrate to Solution Provider Portal?
In Solution Provider Portal, you will be able to see all of your new cases created in Solution Provider Portal. For existing regional cases, you will be redirected to corresponding regional locations those cases were originally created.
Troubleshooting
Why can't I accept new invitations from sellers?
If you're a service provider and unable to accept new seller invitations, you might not have completed the required registration and role approval process in Solution Provider Portal.
To resolve this issue, ensure that you completed all steps outlined in the Service Provider Registration and Role Approval Process Overview, particularly the following critical steps:
- Identity verification
- Seller Central role approval
Seller Central role approval means completing your role approval process in Solution Provider Portal. You can track approval status on the Solution Provider Portal homepage under the Services section. Plan for 5–10 business days after submission.
Until you complete these steps and are approved by Amazon, sellers will see greyed-out permissions and won't be able to grant you access.
