Update a Shop Direct Listing

This tutorial explains how to update an existing Shop Direct listing by resubmitting the Google product data feed with the intended replacement values. Updates to Shop Direct listings are full replacements. The submitted data replaces all existing product data for the listing.

Shop Direct is available in the US store (ATVPDKIKX0DER) only. For an overview of how Shop Direct works, refer to What is Shop Direct?

Updates are full replacements. Include all required product attributes in your feed document, not just the fields that you are changing. Omitting required attributes can result in incomplete or invalid listing data.

Prerequisites

To complete this tutorial, you need:

A public or private application that's been approved for the Shop Direct role.
A Shop Direct merchant who has signed up for Shop Direct in the Shop Direct merchant workspace.
(Solution providers only) Authorization from the Shop Direct merchant to manage their Shop Direct listings. For details, refer to Get Authorization to Manage a Shop Direct Merchant's Shop Direct Listings.
An existing Shop Direct listing that you want to update.

Step 1: Update the product data in your feed document

In your feed document, update the fields that you want to change with the intended replacement values. Because updates are full replacements, include all required product attributes, not just the fields that you are changing.

Step 2: Submit the feed

Submit the updated feed by using the same process described in Create a Shop Direct Listing Without Variations. Use feedType: GOOGLE_PRODUCT_DATA_FEED and marketplaceIds: ["ATVPDKIKX0DER"].

Step 3: Retrieve and review the processing report

After you submit the feed, retrieve and review the processing report to confirm that your updates were applied. For details on retrieving the processing report, refer to Create a Shop Direct Listing Without Variations.
