# Step 2: Create a Solution Provider Portal Account

Create a Solution Provider Portal account to manage your SP-API applications.

Before you develop applications that integrate with the Selling Partner API (SP-API), create a <<glossary:Solution Provider Portal>> account. For details about the Solution Provider Portal, refer to [Solution Provider Portal](https://developer.amazonservices.com/solution-provider-portal).

> ⭐ Tips for success
>
> * Have your business registration number ready.
> * Scan your identity proof (government-issued ID or passport and recent bank or credit card statement) so that you can upload it to the form, and have it on hand to show to the Amazon associate during the identity-verification call.
> * Use a device with a video camera so that you can do the required identity-verification call with the Amazon associate.

## Prerequisites

* An Amazon.com account.
* The items in [Step 1: Prepare for Registration](https://developer-docs.amazon.com/sp-api/docs/onboarding-step-1-prepare-for-registration).

## Steps to create a Solution Provider Portal account

To create a Solution Provider Portal account, take the following steps:

1. Sign in to <span class="notranslate">[Solution Provider Portal](https://solutionproviderportal.amazon.com/)</span> with your Amazon credentials.<br>If the display shows <span class="notranslate">**Not Authorized**</span>, you don't already have a Solution Provider Portal account, so continue with this procedure.

2. Choose <span class="notranslate">**Register**</span>.

3. On the <span class="notranslate">**Solution Provider Portal Account Setup**</span> page, choose <span class="notranslate">**Acknowledge & Continue**</span>.

4. On the <span class="notranslate">**Program Enrollment**</span> page, choose the box, select your Amazon account number, and then choose <span class="notranslate">**Enroll and Finish**</span>.

5. On the <span class="notranslate">**Solution Type Setup**</span> page:
   1. Select one or more of the following options:
      * <span class="notranslate">**Build applications that use SP APIs**</span>
      * <span class="notranslate">**Offer services**</span>
   2. Choose **Apply**.\
      The rest of this procedure assumes that you selected <span class="notranslate">**Build applications that use SP APIs**</span>.

6. On the <span class="notranslate">**Solution Provider Portal**</span> page:
   1. Select <span class="notranslate">**Verify your identity**</span>.
   2. Choose <span class="notranslate">**Get Started**</span>.

7. Gather your government-issued ID or passport, recent bank or credit card statement, and business license (if applicable), and then choose <span class="notranslate">**Next**</span>.

8. On the <span class="notranslate">**Business Information**</span> page:
   1. Select your business location.
   2. Select your business type.
   3. Enter your business name.
   4. Read the confirmation text and if you agree, select the confirmation checkbox.
   5. Choose <span class="notranslate">**Next**</span>.

9. On the second <span class="notranslate">**Business Information**</span> page:
   1. Enter your company registration number.
   2. Enter your registered business address.
   3. Select a method to receive a PIN (SMS or a call) and type the characters that you see in the security box.
   4. Enter your phone number.
   5. Select your call verification language.
   6. Choose **Send SMS** or **Call now**.
   7. After you receive the PIN using your chosen method, enter the PIN, and then choose **Next**.

10. On the <span class="notranslate">**Primary Contact Person Information**</span> page:
    1. Enter your name.
    2. Select your country of citizenship.
    3. Select your country of birth.
    4. Select your proof of identity choice.
    5. Enter your address.
    6. Choose <span class="notranslate">**Next**</span>.

11. On the second <span class="notranslate">**Primary Contact Person Information**</span> page:
    1. Upload your proof of identity.
    2. Upload your proof of address.
    3. Click <span class="notranslate">**Next**</span>.\
       The Solution Provider Portal returns to the <span class="notranslate">**Select Account**</span> page.

12. On the **Select Account** page:
    1. Select the account that you just created.
    2. Choose <span class="notranslate">**Select Account**</span>.

13. In the <span class="notranslate">**Identity verification**</span> box, choose <span class="notranslate">**Continue**</span>.

14. On the <span class="notranslate">**Identity Verification**</span> page:
    1. Select your language.
    2. Get your photo ID.
    3. Acknowledge the checkboxes.
    4. Choose <span class="notranslate">**Join video call**</span>.

15. Complete the video call with the Amazon employee.<br>After Amazon verifies your identity, the Solution Provider Portal displays <span class="notranslate">**Verification successful**</span> at the top of the page.
